Bergen (3 nights)

Your luxury tour of Norway begins in Bergen, the country’s second largest city known for its charming, colorful wooden houses dotted along the waterfront. On your first afternoon, explore the city’s historical areas with a privately guided walking tour. Visit the iconic Bryggen Wharf, a UNESCO World Heritage Site showcasing Hanseatic houses, before continuing to the medieval Bergenhus Fortress and the 12th-century St. Mary’s Church, the oldest building in the city. As you stroll through Bergen, get a taste of its rich history and admire the stunning Romanesque architecture.

The following day, head to the peak of Mount Fløyen on the funicular and take in breathtaking views of the snow-covered city below. Then depart on a scenic hike along forest trails before making your way back to Bergen to see the city’s modern sights. Visit the thriving heart of the city, Sentrum, and stroll along the waterfront of the Nordnes Peninsula. At the harbor, enter Fisketorget, the local fish market which dates back to the 1200s, and sample Norwegian fish and cheese.

The next day, head to Gudvangen by private transfer, winding through scenic valleys and passing glassy fjords. From this picturesque countryside village, set off on a ferry ride through the UNESCO-listed Aurlandsfjord and Naeroyfjord toward the tiny village of Flåm. Disembark the boat and board the famed Flåmsbana train to Myrdal. During your journey, take in unforgettable views of the grand mountain peaks and glacier-sculpted valleys that surround Bergen. In the evenings, savor delicious Norwegian dinners at Bergen’s best restaurants.

Alta (4 nights)

Continue your luxury Norway journey with a flight from Bergen to Alta, via Oslo unless flying privately. Set above the Arctic Circle, Alta is a gateway to Norway’s far north and is known for its otherworldly landscapes, rich Sámi heritage, and some of the world’s best Northern Lights viewing. Upon arrival, go by private transfer into the high arctic to the luxurious Sorrisniva Arctic Wilderness Lodge, a refined retreat overlooking the frozen Alta River.

During your stay, you will embark on a carefully curated itinerary of Arctic adventures, under the shimmering glow of the Northern Lights. Discover the pristine landscapes on a snowshoeing excursion, pausing at a wilderness shelter for a bonfire and warming refreshments. Embrace local traditions with a private ice sculpting lesson where you will learn about the methodology and tools needed to master the craft before trying your hand at it, or enjoy a reindeer-led sleigh ride through the snow-covered forest with an indigenous Sámi guide who will share their culture, customs, and stories. Visit the nearby Igloo Hotel for a privately guided tour of the property’s intricately sculpted interiors, which are reconstructed every winter using over 200 tons of ice. Raise a glass at their iconic Ice Bar before choosing whether you want to settle in for the night in your hand-sculpted ice room, or return to your luxury lodge.

For exhilarating outdoor thrills, set out on a dog sledding expedition, with the option to ride as a passenger or lead your own team of Alaskan huskies across the wilderness. You can also speed across snowy plateaus on an exciting, private snowmobiling adventure. The Arctic light itself becomes part of every outdoor experience, offering some of the clearest and most consistent displays of the Aurora Borealis. After days filled with adventure, retreat to the warmth and comfort of your luxury lodge. Indulge in Sorrisniva’s exquisite spa, featuring a sauna and jacuzzi with views of the icy surroundings, and savor the flavors of the Arctic at the lodge’s fine-dining restaurant.

On the final day of your luxury journey through Norway, you will be transferred in private to Alta’s airport in time for your international departure flight back home. Check-in and luggage assistance will be provided.
