Rio de Janeiro (3 nights)
Begin your luxury Brazil tour in the country’s vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro where you will be greeted by your personal host and transported by private vehicle to one of Rio’s 5-star luxury properties. Our recommended hotels include the iconic Copacabana Palace or the avant-garde Fasano hotel in Ipanema.
On your first day, discover Rio’s most beautiful beaches, like Ipanema, Leblon and Copacabana, while enjoying a private biking tour with your personal guide. The following day, embark on a hiking excursion across one of Rio’s spectacular mountains, such as Pedra Gavea, Pedra Bonita or Pico da Tijuca. In the afternoon, board your private helicopter from the Lagoon of Rio and get ready to take in incredible aerial views of the city. Your private helicopter tour of Rio will soar over the coastline and circle around Christ the Redeemer (Mount Corcovado) before dropping you off at Sugarloaf Mountain. From here, you will continue by cable-car to this landmark and admire incredible views of the city and bay.
Your private Brazil tour continues with a tour of Rio’s colonial center where you will learn about the city’s colonial past which was originally the seat of the Portuguese Empire. Then, visit the eclectic artists’ neighborhood of Santa Teresa before heading to the Pequena Africa neighborhood, where you can visit a number of sites that highlight the city’s African history and legacy.
Rio de Janeiro is famous for its vibrant and colorful music scene. Enjoy Rio by night at Rio Scenarium where you can listen to soothing live bossa nova or lively samba music.
The Pantanal (4 nights)
The following day, begin your journey into the Pantanal to embark on your bespoke wildlife discovery tour. You will be greeted by your personal guide and taken by private transfer to the airport for your domestic commercial flight to Campo Grande via Sao Paulo. Upon arrival, enjoy assisted check-in for your private flight to the Pantanal, where your guide will greet you and take you to your luxury lodge. After settling into your accommodation, enjoy an introductory walking tour around the lodge which is located deep within the tropical wetland and boasts 18 rooms immersed in the surrounding nature. End your day with a delicious dinner at the property’s restaurant.
Throughout your luxury tour of the Pantanal, you will have the opportunity to enjoy different outdoor wildlife adventures tailored to your activity level and interests. Some of our recommended activities include horseback riding, a photo safari in a 4×4 with an expert naturalist guide, a Canadian Canoe excursion and a nocturnal wildlife spotting adventure.
One of the Pantanal’s most famed species is the jaguar. During your tour, spend a day with a team of biologists, vets, guides and trackers working to conserve biodiversity and habituate jaguars to vehicles. You might just catch a glimpse of the elusive jaguar! Or, help the biologists from the Hyacinth Macaw Institute monitor the population of hyacinth macaws as well as other macaw species. Observe natural and artificial nests and even help with nest installations or repairs. Each day, enjoy a delicious lunch and time at leisure at your luxury lodge before heading out on evening activities; enjoy a dip in the outdoor pool or keep an eye out for nearby wildlife.
On the final morning of your private Pantanal tour, depart from your lodge for a private flight to the Campo Grande airport where you will begin your journey home.
