EXTRAORDINARY OUTDOOR ADVENTURES

Four people horseback riding through a field in front of mountains on a luxury private tour in Torres del Paine, Patagonia

Blue Parallel was born of a desire to combine incredible outdoor experiences at UNESCO World Heritage sites with luxury. Outdoor adventures are an essential aspect of most Blue Parallel journeys. A typical day with Blue Parallel sees travelers spending time immersed in nature enjoying their preferred outdoor adventure that could be anything from hiking to scuba diving to horseback riding. After an active day, travelers then return to their luxury accommodations for some pampering in the form of a gourmet meal or spa treatment.

Bucket List

At Blue Parallel, we focus on must-see destinations and extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime adventures. We believe our awe-inspiring destinations have more to offer than just picture-perfect natural scenery and landmarks. In fact, we believe they are best experienced first-hand by getting all of the senses involved by being active, whether that be ice trekking on a glacier in Patagonia, hiking up an active volcano in Sicily, or scuba diving in crystal clear glacial waters in Iceland. Of course, just seeing a UNESCO World Heritage site like Machu Picchu is incredible, but the best way to fully appreciate this man-made wonder is by hiking the very same trail as the ancient Incans themselves.

Privacy

Privacy is at the heart of every Blue Parallel trip. Our goal is to create a privileged experience with nature without crowds for our guests. This starts with luxury accommodations such as a remote lodge facing a glacier or a jungle lodge deep in the Amazon rainforest, which one reaches by hydroplane. Private excursions allow our travelers to have more freedom and enjoy their adventures at their own pace without having to wait for a group. Travelers also receive the full attention of their expert guides, and, perhaps most importantly, they can commune with nature without any noise or visual pollution from other tourists.

EPIC ADVENTURES IN LATIN AMERICA

Ice Trekking in Patagonia, Argentina

Join a specialized guide in Los Glaciares National Park to enjoy an exciting ice-trekking excursion on the Perito Moreno Glacier. To arrive at this natural wonder, embark on a boat to cross the bay for breathtaking views of the immense glacier. Upon arrival, strap on crampons to trek over the thickest sections of the ice to see turquoise glacial lagoons and creeks as well as huge crevasses and other fascinating ice formations. If you’re so inclined, you may even sip a whiskey on the rocks on top of the glacier itself!

Scuba Diving in the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

Experience the incredibly diverse marine life of the Galapagos Islands from below the waves! Whether you choose a land or sea-based journey, Blue Parallel can arrange a private scuba diving experience with an expert dive team. Diving down to the underwater seascapes of reefs and cliffs where you will encounter an impressive array of coral, tropical fish, rays, turtles, sharks, and sea lions in their natural environment is an unmissable adventure.

Hiking the Inca Trail, Peru

Traverse 35 miles of the same ancient trails used by the Inca to reach Machu Picchu over four days. As you hike, enjoy stunning views of the peaks and valleys of the Andes mountains, stop at several Incan ruins, and spot flora and fauna of the forest. While many travelers use porters to transport their camping gear on this trek, Blue Parallel takes your experience to the next level with a personal chef and waiter to prepare and serve gourmet meals. In the evenings, you will even have the opportunity to relax your tired muscles with a professional masseuse if you are so inclined.

Planasub Snorkeling, Fernando de Noronha, Brazil

Explore the tropical waters of Fernando de Noronha, famous for their clarity, with an expert guide via a local invention: planasub. Holding onto a board, you will be towed behind a private motorboat. Using the board, dive up to 30 feet underwater to get a close-up view of schools of colorful fish and sea turtles. These beautiful waters are also home to hundreds of Spinner Dolphins, who put on an impressive show, jumping out of the water as they spin around their own axis.

Sportfishing, Gulf of Chiriquí, Panama

Emark on a world-class fishing expedition with an expert guide off Panama's picturesque Pacific coast. Take a private boat from your luxury island casita to Hannibal Bank and Isla Montuosa — two world renowned sportfishing destinations — for the chance to catch huge Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Grouper, Snapper and trophy sized Yellowfin Tuna.

Rafting in Pacuare, Costa Rica

After arriving in the Pacuare region by private plane, head to your luxury jungle lodge in a most exhilarating and unforgettable manner—whitewater rafting! Over an hour and a half, you will navigate class II and III rapids and, when the aquamarine waters are calm, enjoy scenic views of the surrounding lush foliage. Upon reaching the lodge, explore the natural wonders of the Pacuare forest by hiking, ziplining, or evening canyoning. You also have the option to depart from the lodge by an even higher-adrenaline rafting adventure featuring class III and IV rapids.

Sandboarding in the Atacama Desert, Chile

While many hike through Mars Valley in the Atacama Desert, more adventurous travelers can get to know the otherworldly dunes of the driest desert in the world by riding down the sandy peaks on a sandboard. After a picturesque hike along the top of the Cordillera de la Sal, a sandboarding expert will instruct travelers how to maneuver down the iconic dunes.

Open Water Swimming in San Blas, Panama

Best accessed by private plane, Panama’s San Blas Islands are a paradise lost in time with crystal clear waters and white sand beaches. The archipelago is made up of 365 palm-covered islands, many of which are tiny and uninhabited. Swim in the Caribbean waters from unspoiled island to unspoiled island as your private catamaran, staffed by a dedicated captain and crew, follows you. As part of your customized itinerary, you may visit the group of islands known as the Dutch Keys, three of which are home to some of the local Guna population, an indigenous people of Panama whose traditional culture has been well-preserved.

EPIC ADVENTURES IN THE MEDITERRANEAN

Downhill Biking Atlas Mountains, Morocco

A definite bucket list item for mountain biking enthusiasts, this excursion will take you through the striking Ouirgane Valley on red clay dirt into Toubkal National Park, home to the highest peak of North Africa. First, take a private transfer from the luxurious Kasbah Tamadot, Sir Richard Branson’s retreat, to the entrance of the national park where your top-of-the-line, light-weight performance mountain bikes will be waiting. As you ride, you will be nearly alone to enjoy the breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountains. You will also pass through Berber villages where you will have the opportunity to enjoy mint tea with a local family to learn about their traditions.

Kayaking in Dubrovnik, Croatia

In addition to strolling along the top of Dubrovnik’s magnificent city walls, Blue Parallel travelers will also have the opportunity to see them from an alternative view in the sea below. Paddle your sea kayak along the imposing walls with an expert guide before arriving at a hidden cave beach to relax under the sun.

Hiking the Stromboli Volcano, Sicily

With eruptions approximately every hour, Stromboli Volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Hike up the slopes of the volcano on the “Old Route Trail,” which is not open to the general public, with an expert guide. Continue to the summit where you will be able to watch the glow of lava coming from the mouth of the volcano after sunset. Then, dawn night hiking gear to descend the volcano as you watch the lights of boats in the sea dance in the distance. Upon arriving back in the village below, enjoy some well-deserved pizza from the best pizzeria on the island.

Hot Air Ballooning, Cappadocia, Turkey

Floating above Cappadocia’s unique landscape of dramatic rock formations and beautiful valleys in a private hot air balloon is truly a magical once-in-a-lifetime experience. This fascinating area of Turkey is dotted with “fairy chimneys,” which are natural formations that are tall towers of rock that look as though they have been brought to life from the pages of a children’s fairytale book. Some of the “fairy chimneys” also bear cultural significance with beautifully decorated Byzantine-era churches carved directly into them.

Camel Riding in the Sahara Desert, Morocco

Journey through the sand dunes to your private Sahara desert camp the traditional way, on the back of a so-called “ship of the desert,” or camel. After arriving at your exclusive camp where you will be the only guests, enjoy a delicious 3-course Berber meal prepared by a dedicated staff. Then, take advantage of the lack of light pollution in this remote area of the desert by stargazing with a local astronomer who will teach you about constellations glimmering above.

EPIC ADVENTURES IN THE POLAR REGIONS

Scuba dive or Snorkel in fresh spring water at Silfra, Iceland

During your luxury tour of Iceland, enjoy an exclusive diving or snorkeling excursion at the Silfra fissure, a rift between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Swim within the fissure itself through some of the clearest waters in the world with an expert guide. This unique and fascinating natural phenomenon deserves a spot on any adventure lover’s bucket list.

Kayaking in Antarctica

Just setting foot on the “White Continent” is a must for any serious traveler, but Blue Parallel believes the best way to know a place is via active excursions. What better way to really understand the scale of the icebergs floating in the frigid Antarctic waters than kayaking between them? As you navigate among the ice, you may even encounter some of the Antarctic wildlife, including penguins, whales, and seals.

Dog Sledding in Lapland, Sweden

For lovers of adventure and animals, exploring Lapland by dog sled will be an unforgettable experience! Glide through snowy forests in the Swedish wilderness behind your own team of Alaskan Huskies, which you will have the chance to mush yourself! For lunch, stop at a private log cabin to savor local cuisine, including reindeer meat. After this exciting dog sledding excursion, return to your luxury wilderness lodge to warm up in the wood-fired sauna.

Arctic Cod fishing in Lofoten, Norway

Every year between mid-February and April, millions of Arctic cod migrate from the Barents Sea to the Lofoten Islands to spawn, and the fishermen of Norway travel from all over the country to capitalize on this thrilling and important opportunity. Take part in this extraordinary natural event from the deck of an authentic fishing vessel with the guidance of local fishermen—an experience not to be missed! The Lofoten Islands are also known for their picturesque mountains, waterways, colorful fisherman’s cabins, and opportunities to see the dazzling northern lights.

Snowmobiling on a volcano in Iceland

After being picked up by a helicopter from your private villa, enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys that surround Eyjafjallajökull volcano as you follow your personal guide across the glacier covering the volcano’s caldera by snowmobile. This high-speed adventure is worthy of any traveler’s bucket list!

Hiking the fjords of Norway

For the adventurous nature lover, the fjords of Norway are the perfect bucket list destination. The steep walls of a fjord, a natural formation created when water fills a deep valley created by a glacier, make for challenging but rewarding hikes. Depending on your aptitude and preferences, Blue Parallel will help you choose the perfect trail to enjoy the stunning lake and mountain views that await the end of your trek. Stop along the way to savor a picnic in this picturesque setting or to listen to a waterfall tumbling down the fjord wall.
