Athens (2 nights)

Your private tour of Greece begins in Athens, one of the world’s oldest cities. Your private transfer takes you to your hotel in downtown Athens with views of the Acropolis. Once a powerful city-state and a center for the arts, learning, and philosophy, Athens was home to Plato’s Academy and Aristotle’s Lyceum and is often referred to as the cradle of Western civilization and the birthplace of democracy. Its Classical Era heritage is still evident, represented by ancient monuments and works of art dotted throughout the city, the most famous being the Parthenon.

After you settle into your luxury hotel, visit the innovative Acropolis Museum with your expert guide. The museum’s glass design is equal in size and shape to the Parthenon. It also rotates the Marble sculptures and findings precisely as they were at the Parthenon centuries ago. After your immersion into the rich history of the Acropolis, dine at a nearby restaurant with breathtaking views of the Acropolis.

The next day, visit the Acropolis itself, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most important ancient site in the Western world. Later, explore the Plaka neighborhood built on top of the residential areas of the ancient town of Athens and finish at the Ancient Agora and Roman Forums, all walking distance from your hotel. Enjoy lunch at a traditional tavern before heading back to your hotel to spend some time at leisure. Later in the evening, dine at a gourmet restaurant in town.

Crete, Greek Islands (3 nights)

You will be greeted by your host and taken by private transfer to the airport for your domestic commercial flight to Crete. Upon arrival, visit the Heraklion Museum, to learn about the history of the island Crete, complete with artifacts belonging to the ancient civilizations that once populated the island. After a traditional lunch in town, continue to the Palace of Knossos, the largest Bronze Age archaeological site on Crete. Knossos was settled as early as the Neolithic period and has been referred to as Europe’s oldest city. Continue to your hotel where you can settle into your accommodation before enjoying an incredible meal.

The following day, set out for a private boating day to sail around the coast of Elounda and around the isle of Spinalonga, an uninhabited islet that has been designated a National Heritage Monument. With impressive relics from the Roman times, Venetian occupation, and Ottoman Empire, Spinalonga has a rich history that uniquely captures the heritage of Crete itself. While there, you will explore the island on foot with your guide. Later, enjoy a traditional Greek lunch onboard your vessel or stop at a local beach. Then, return to the hotel for some time at leisure before a recommended dinner in the village of Plaka.

On your last day in Crete, embark on a 4 hour hiking excursion with an expert guide to Havgas Gorge, the unique long gorge in the Lassithi Plateau. In the afternoon, visit the village of Kritsa, where you can visit a traditional weaving cooperative and enjoy local delicacies.

Santorini (3 nights)

Depart Crete with a convenient fast ferry to Santorini. Upon arrival on the island, located in the southernmost point of the Cyclades Islands, your personal host will greet you before your private transfer to your hotel with breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea. After you settle in, your expert guide will accompany you to explore the archaeological site of Akrotiri. A volcanic eruption destroyed this Minoan Bronze Age settlement around 1,500 BC. In the evening, head down to the tiny port of Ammoudi with excellent taverns located right on the water that serve freshly caught fish.

The following day, explore Santorini’s caldera on a private sailing excursion. Depart from the Vlihada port located in the southern part of the island and sail to the famous red beach for swimming and snorkeling. Continue along the coast stopping at the white beach and the Akrotiri lighthouse. Later, pick up sail through the caldera lake to Thirasia Island, where you will hike to a spectacular lookout point for the best view of Santorini. In the late afternoon, head to the picturesque town of Pyrgos and sip on cocktails as you listen to classical music at Franco’s Bar, followed by dinner at a local taverna.

On your third day, enjoy a private wine tasting before stopping at the forgotten village of Emporio. In the late afternoon, take a private transfer to Imerovigli for your 2 hour hike along the caldera’s cliffs. Stop along the way at a quaint church to take in panoramic views while listening to live folkloric Greek music playing just for your party. Finally, arrive at your hotel in time to watch the sunset in the privacy of your hotel room’s terrace.

On the last day of your private Greece tour, return to Athens by domestic flight to catch your international flight home.
