Split
Our journey began in Split, Croatia‘s vibrant coastal city, where ancient Roman history meets contemporary Mediterranean living. Set along the Dalmatian Coast, Split serves as the gateway to many of Croatia’s most celebrated islands and offers the perfect blend of rich cultural heritage, lively waterfront promenades and exceptional luxury hospitality.
Privately Guided Walking Tour
Our first experience in Split was a privately guided walking tour through the city’s UNESCO-listed Old Town.
At the heart of Split lies Diocletian’s Palace, one of the world’s best-preserved Roman monuments. Walking through its maze of narrow stone streets, hidden courtyards and lively piazzas offered a fascinating glimpse into more than 1,700 years of history while showcasing how the city has seamlessly blended its ancient past with modern Mediterranean life.
We also visited the Cathedral of Saint Domnius before continuing to Split’s bustling local market, where vendors sell fresh produce, regional specialties and artisan products. Exploring the market provided a wonderful opportunity to experience the city’s vibrant atmosphere and authentic local culture.

Hotel Ambassador
We revisited Hotel Ambassador, one of Split’s premier waterfront hotels.
Located just steps from the Old Town and overlooking the marina, the property combines contemporary design with excellent facilities, including spacious guestrooms, a full-service spa, outdoor pool and fitness center.
Its exceptional location makes it particularly convenient for travelers beginning or ending a private yacht charter, while the panoramic sea views provide a memorable introduction to Croatia’s spectacular Adriatic coastline.
Yachting The Dalmatian Coast
A major focus of our research journey was exploring the luxury yacht experiences that make Croatia one of Europe’s premier cruising destinations.
Few places rival the Adriatic when it comes to private yachting. Hundreds of idyllic islands, secluded coves, charming fishing villages and crystal-clear waters create the perfect setting for bespoke journeys tailored to each traveler’s interests.
Throughout our time along the Dalmatian Coast, we met with captains, crews, yacht managers and owners to gain a deeper understanding of the guest experience both on board and ashore. We also explored a variety of cruising routes and destinations, allowing us to experience firsthand what makes each itinerary unique.

One of the most valuable insights from the journey was the importance of maintaining a relaxed pace while cruising. Rather than filling every day with activities, allowing time to enjoy life on board and soak up the beauty of the Adriatic often creates the most memorable experiences.
We also gained valuable insight into the finer details that shape a successful yacht charter, from onboard service and crew dynamics to yacht layouts and dining experiences. These behind-the-scenes elements play an important role in ensuring every charter feels seamless, comfortable and personalized.
Our firsthand experiences continue to help us curate exceptional yacht journeys that combine spectacular scenery, authentic local experiences and the highest standards of luxury.
Hvar
Our journey continued to Hvar, one of Croatia’s most iconic islands. Renowned for its glamorous atmosphere, beautiful Venetian architecture and vibrant waterfront, Hvar effortlessly combines luxury, history and Mediterranean charm.
Surrounded by lavender fields, olive groves and secluded beaches, the island offers an exceptional balance of relaxation, adventure and cultural discovery.
Olive Oil Tasting Experience
One of the highlights of our time on Hvar was an immersive olive oil tasting experience.
Surrounded by centuries-old olive groves, we learned about the island’s long-standing olive oil traditions before sampling a selection of exceptional locally produced oils paired with regional specialties.
The experience offered a wonderful opportunity to connect with local producers while gaining a deeper appreciation for one of Croatia’s most celebrated culinary traditions.
Hotel Palace Elisabeth
During our stay on Hvar, we visited Palace Elisabeth, one of the island’s finest luxury hotels.
Overlooking Hvar’s historic main square and picturesque harbor, the hotel impressed us with its elegant design, exceptional service and beautiful sea views. Its central location places guests just steps from the island’s restaurants, boutiques and lively waterfront while offering a peaceful retreat after a day of exploration.
For travelers seeking one of the finest luxury accommodations in Hvar, Palace Elisabeth remains one of our preferred recommendations.
Vis
From Hvar, we continued to Vis, one of Croatia’s most authentic and unspoiled islands.
Once closed to foreign visitors for decades due to its strategic military importance, Vis has retained a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and slower pace of life. Today, the island is known for its charming fishing villages, dramatic coastline and fascinating history.
During our visit, we explored several of the island’s historical sites while learning about its military heritage and unique role throughout the twentieth century. These experiences provide an engaging perspective on Croatia’s history and make an excellent addition for travelers with an interest in culture and heritage.
Šolta
Another stop during our island-hopping adventure was the peaceful island of Šolta.
Often overlooked in favor of its larger neighbors, Šolta offers a quieter side of the Adriatic, where sleepy fishing villages, olive groves and sheltered coves create an atmosphere of complete tranquility.
Cruising along the island’s coastline revealed beautiful secluded bays with remarkably clear waters, making it an ideal destination for swimming, paddleboarding and simply relaxing aboard a private yacht.

The slower pace and untouched beauty of Šolta provide a wonderful contrast to the lively energy of islands such as Hvar, creating a perfectly balanced Adriatic itinerary.
Dubrovnik
From the islands, we continued our journey south to Dubrovnik, one of the Adriatic’s most iconic destinations. Surrounded by imposing medieval walls and overlooking the sparkling Adriatic Sea, Dubrovnik is celebrated for its remarkable history, striking architecture and exceptional luxury hospitality.
Often referred to as the “Pearl of the Adriatic,” the city offers an unforgettable blend of cultural exploration, breathtaking coastal scenery and exclusive experiences.
Cultural Walking Tour
One of the highlights of our time in Dubrovnik was a privately guided walking tour through the city’s UNESCO-listed Old Town.
We wandered through the historic limestone streets, discovering centuries of history while visiting many of Dubrovnik’s most important landmarks, including the Franciscan Monastery, the Rector’s Palace and the Cathedral of the Assumption.
Our guide also led us along Dubrovnik’s famous city walls, where spectacular panoramic views stretched across the terracotta rooftops, the ancient fortifications and the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic below. Walking the walls remains one of the city’s most memorable experiences and offers a unique perspective on Dubrovnik’s remarkable past.
Konavle Countryside Experience
Beyond the city, we ventured into the peaceful Konavle region, where rolling vineyards, olive groves and traditional stone villages offer a quieter side of southern Croatia.
Surrounded by beautiful countryside, the region provides a wonderful contrast to Dubrovnik’s bustling Old Town while offering authentic insights into local traditions and rural life.

One of the culinary highlights of our journey was a private experience at the Bakicevo Family Estate.
Nestled among the tranquil landscapes of Konavle, we were welcomed by the family before taking part in a traditional cooking experience using fresh local ingredients. Afterwards, we gathered together to enjoy a delicious homemade meal featuring authentic regional recipes and warm Croatian hospitality.
The intimate setting, exceptional cuisine and genuine connection with local traditions made this one of our favorite experiences in the Dubrovnik region.
Villa Dubrovnik
During our stay, we also visited Villa Dubrovnik, one of the city’s most exclusive luxury hotels.
Perched above the Adriatic with uninterrupted sea views, the property combines understated elegance with exceptional personalized service. Its peaceful waterfront setting feels wonderfully private while remaining just a short drive from Dubrovnik’s historic center.
For travelers seeking an intimate luxury retreat, Villa Dubrovnik continues to be one of our preferred recommendations.
Montenegro
The final leg of our Adriatic journey took us across the border into Montenegro. Although compact in size, Montenegro is home to some of Europe’s most spectacular coastal scenery, where towering mountains meet tranquil bays, medieval towns and world-class luxury resorts.
Nestled along the breathtaking Bay of Kotor, the country offers an exceptional blend of natural beauty, rich history and exclusive experiences, making it a wonderful complement to any Croatia itinerary.

Perast & Kotor
One of the highlights of our time in Montenegro was exploring the beautiful towns of Perast and Kotor.
Our journey along the Bay of Kotor revealed dramatic mountain landscapes rising directly from the water, creating one of the most scenic coastal drives in the Adriatic.
We first visited Perast, a charming waterfront town renowned for its elegant Baroque architecture, peaceful atmosphere and beautiful views across the bay. Strolling along the promenade offered a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the town’s rich maritime heritage and relaxed pace of life.
From there, we continued to Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site nestled beneath towering limestone cliffs. Wandering through its maze of narrow cobblestone streets, lively squares and centuries-old churches provided a fascinating glimpse into Montenegro’s medieval past, while the city’s vibrant cafés and waterfront added to its unmistakable charm.
