Luxury Tours Buenos Aires & Coast of Uruguay

Buenos Aires & Coast of Uruguay

Enjoy Buenos Aires, one of the most exciting and elegant cities on the continent, as you soak up its urban rhythms and nightlife. Whether your interest is visiting artists at their private ateliers, private tango lessons, or exploring the city with an expert, Blue Parallel will arrange exclusive experiences offering you insider access to the city. You will then depart to one of the locals' favorite getaways: Uruguay. A South American delight, Uruguay is known for offering a bit of everything.  The coastline offers desolate beaches ahead of the rolling sand dunes that remain untouched by urban sprawl, with small artist colonies and sophisticated getaways for the region’s élite seeking an escape. You can also join the beautiful people who flock to Punta del Este, known as what is becoming South America’s Saint-Tropez, as the place to be seen with high-end restaurants and night parties. Later wake up and travel just an hour into the countryside and scale back the clock a few centuries to enjoy a way of life from a bygone era, as you visit the plantations producing fine wines, olive oils, and cheeses, while sampling them all.  If you want a little adrenaline, enjoy Uruguay through a multitude of outdoor activities including sailing, golfing, kite surfing, horseback riding, or just relax on the beach.  Whether traditional or modern, leisurely or vigorous, the experiences in Uruguay are as diverse as visitors from around the world who are just starting to notice this idyllic country.

Please note that the following itinerary is an example, as all of our journeys are custom-made

Buenos Aires (2 nights)

Arrival in the cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires after an overnight flight. Greeting by your personal host and private transfer to a 5-star hotel of your choice. Discover Buenos Aires on your private guided tour of the main sightseeing attractions, depending on your interests. Visit some of the city's many museums and enjoy exclusive access to the private homes and ateliers of esteemed local curators and artists. Explore amongst the typical fairs, antique markets, and take part in a private cooking class or wine tasting session with an expert sommelier. Enjoy a private tango lesson followed by a traditional tango show, or appreciate a live musical performance in the famed Teatro Colón. Dine on authentic gourmet meals in the city's finest restaurants and cocktails in the many chic bars and lounges in the evenings.

José Ignacio (4 nights)

After a 50-minute flight, land in Punta del Este, Uruguay. You will be greeted by your hostess and taken by private transfer to your accommodations near José Ignacio. This small village is the sophisticated retreat for families in the region and from around the world who seek a tranquil escape away from the urban beach resort bustle. You will enjoy your stay at one of the intimate and smartly-designed properties: Bahía Vik, Playa Vik, Estancia Vik, or the Fasano Las Piedras. Or, if you’re interested in making your experience even more special, spend your vacation in one of our private villas.

The Uruguayan coast offers charming towns, rolling countryside, tranquil beaches, and excellent restaurants featuring gourmet seafood and local wines. There is also an array of water and land activities to choose from such as fishing, golfing, kayaking, kite-surfing, surfing, or even polo lessons. On the evening of your arrival, your personal guide will take you out horseback riding on the dunes overlooking the Atlantic, until you finally arrive at an exclusive setup near the water to enjoy wines and hors d’oeuvres prepared by a private chef, as you relax and admire the sunset. Relax at your leisure and enjoy either La Mansa or La Brava beach during the daytime, as you will approach the beaches with exclusive access through a private club, and with the private services of parasols, lounge chairs, and refreshments provided.

Venture inland to enjoy Uruguay’s green countryside and its centuries-old traditions with its laid back and sophisticated lifestyle with your personal guide. Visit the village of Garzón, a picturesque settlement with a population of 198, where acclaimed chef Francis Mallman chose to establish his small yet elegant restaurant to give his guests a taste of Uruguay’s more traditional roots. Later, bike on the gravel roads and over the rolling hills to an olive oil plantation, where the hosts will show you the estate and you can sample its olive oils and wines. Continue your ride to a private estate surrounded by the lagoons, where you will stop at one of the groves to have lunch featuring the catch of the day in a traditional Uruguayan cowboy barbecue, all while you enjoy the green oasis and later go canoeing.

Your hostess can also take you to the Narbona estate, one of Uruguay’s graceful ranches, where you will sample its wines and cheeses in the cellar as you experience the softer elements of a bygone era in a level of sophistication still preserved and celebrated.

On another afternoon, head down the coast to the artist colony of La Barra, which boasts a beautiful seascape and independent artisan galleries. Later continue to nearby Punta del Este, Uruguay's famous seaside resort, and one of the top beach destinations in the Southern Cone. You can finish off the day by watching the sunset from the whitewashed and unique Casapueblo.

Once the sun goes down, your hostess can arrange your evening excursions according to your interests. At the some of the continent’s most famous restaurants (La Huella, La Bourgogne to name a few), we will arrange reservations and to have you greeted and seated by the owners (if present) or the executive chefs. Afterwards, if you wish to go out, since your hostess has the connections with the local high society, you will be granted access to the high profile events and parties which have made this part of Uruguay famous in its December-February summer season.

On your last day, drive to the airport in time to catch your connection for your international flight home.
