The Journey on our Atacama Desert Luxury Tour
Please note that the following is only a suggestion as all of our luxury adventure travel journeys are custom-made.
Santiago de Chile
You will take an overnight flight to Santiago de Chile, where you will stay in a 5-star hotel in the heart of the city. Your personal guide will be at your disposal all day and will take you to the main highlights and museums of the city including the Plaza de Armas, Cathedral, Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art and the attractive neighborhoods of Paris Londres and Santa Lucia.
Atacama Desert
You will then take a 2½ -hour flight to Calama, a small city situated on the edge of the Atacama Desert. You will be welcomed by your personal host and transferred to San Pedro de Atacama. You will then check into the Explora Lodge, a luxurious lodge that offers all the amenities and comfort you could possibly ask for, or into the Alto Atacama, which boasts authentic décor with an astute attention to detail. You will choose from a number of explorations and adventures each day, relax in the swimming pool and enjoy massages and gourmet meals in the evening.
Argentinean Northwest
Next you will experience a breathtaking drive from the desert of Chile, over the Andes and into the heartland of Argentina, taking in the many panoramic views and unique landscapes along the way. You will stay in Purmamarca and discover the Northwest of Argentina with its singular Salt Desert and the majestic Mountain-of-the-Seven-Colors. You may also choose to stay in an exclusive private lodge located in the province of Jujuy amid spectacular desert-like scenery and views of the Andes. Enjoy hiking and horseback riding through exceptional landscapes composed of dramatic rock formations, imposing gorges and giant cacti.

You will then travel south to the city of Salta and discover the sightseeing highlights of this charming city before driving through some spectacular landscape to reach the exclusive Bodega Colomé, considered to be Argentina’s oldest working winery. After a day of outdoor adventures, you will continue on your tour to Cafayate, where you will discover the region’s finest vineyards and stay in a luxurious hotel. Relax in the swimming pool or on your private balcony, looking out over the ancient vineyards below, before enjoying gourmet food, prepared with local ingredients from the Andes. You will then witness the amazing rock formations of the Quebrada de Las Conchas as you make your way back to Salta.
Buenos Aires
You will then fly to Buenos Aires where you will stay in a luxurious 5-star hotel of your choice, ideally located in the heart of the city. You will visit the sightseeing highlights of the city including the historic Plaza de Mayo and the “Casa Rosada” (pink house), San Telmo where tango was born, Palermo and its lovely parks, the chic Recoleta district and La Boca (the colorful heart of Buenos Aires), depending on your interests. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional tango show at Esquina Gardel or see a performance at the world-famous Teatro Colon from your private box.
Optional Extensions
If you have more time, you could continue on your luxury Argentina tour, south from Cafayate through the beautiful Tafí del Valle and on to Tucumán before flying to Buenos Aires. Alternatively, we would suggest combining this trip with a stay in the wine country outside of Santiago de Chile, or with a stay in Mendoza, the heart of Argentina’s wine region.
