Blue Parallel takes people to the natural and cultural wonders of Latin America, focusing on UNESCO world heritage sites. As an organization we feel strongly about responsible travel, and want to work to sustain these areas of magnificent beauty, and indeed the cultures, and people that surround them. Blue Parallel currently donates to Cimientos, through United Way. Cimientos works to encourage children from low income families in Argentina to remain in the formal education system and complete a high school education. Like Blue Parallel, Cimientos believe that education is an essential building block to overcome the vicious circle of poverty, lack of training and social exclusion. Education empowers people to make, and more importantly to have, choices in their future. Currently, due to a poor economic situation and the need to earn a wage to support their families, 23% of Argentine children from 12 to 18 years of age abandon school. This severely affects not only their future development, but also the future of Argentina. The mission of this non-profit organization is to promote equal educational opportunities through programs that encourage school inclusion and improve the quality of the education offered to children from low-income families in Argentina. At Blue Parallel we want to make a positive contribution to the places we visit, and so for every trip we book, we will make a donation to Cimientos. This donation comes directly from Blue Parallel and is not passed onto our clients. Cimientos, in Argentina is the first organization we have worked with in Latin America. We wish to extend this policy throughout all the areas we operate in, and we are currently in the process of selecting other worthy causes throughout Latin America.
